Dallas-born artist Ricardo Paniagua’s work finds much of its inception outside the traditional framework of institutional/academic space. Ricardo’s oeuvre may offer manifested qualities that do not appear to be directed by a catalogue of references, oftentimes alienating unfamiliar audiences unaccustomed to the autodidact’s perspective. His painstaking precisely painted sculptural works take form right away from his voluminous record of unconscious experiences. Ricardo’s innovation for design and technically rooted pursuits of the impossible object have quickly become evidence of an artist manifesting his supernatural visions. Currently, the artist believes his unconscious is merging with AI in a direct manner to teach him new ways of making art. Paniagua has participated in exhibitions across the United States including Davidson Gallery, NYC, Talley Dunn Gallery, Dallas as well as abroad at the inaugural edition of the Material Art Fair, CDMX, La Ciudad de los Palacios/Tenochtitlan.
